Learn and Master Guitar
If you wish to become a guitar master then you need to start out just like all the other guys. First learn the chord structures of all the major and minor chords. For example to play an A major you take your index finger and press on the second fret of the D string. Then with your middle finger press the G string of the second fret. Follow that with your third finger on the second fret of the B string.
That is the open A chord. Now you need to also understand there are many ways to play each chord to achieve different sounds. You can play with an E shape by barring the fifth fret. But this gets into the CAGED system which is a basic concept of guitar theory. I personally don’t recommend getting too into guitar theory. It can definitely help you learn guitar faster as you will get a much better understanding of the fretboard.
But the greatest guitar players who ever lived did not really learn how to read tabs or sheet music let alone theory. What they did master was transcribing music. This is another way of saying they played by ear.
Have you ever wanted to learn guitar songs right away just by listening to them and then matching the sounds on your guitar? This is what playing by ear is all about. It is a great skill to have and ultimately it is what you need to master in order to progress as a guitar player.
This leads to coming up with your own arrangements to songs because it is how you interpret it. At first you need to get down the basics of guitar. Learn how to read tabs. Learn the chords and some major scales. Develop a basic understanding of the fretboard. Learn guitar techniques like bends, hammer-ons, pull-offs, and slide.
Know what style of guitar you would like to get into whether it be Jazz, Blues, Rock, or even Classical. There is so much to learn when you think about it. You can learn how to read sheet music if you would like.
But if you are like me and most aspiring guitar players you just want to sound good on guitar. Learn and master the basics as I have stated above and then all you really have to do is listen and play. Get inspired by good guitar players. You know what kind of music you like better than anybody else so make sure to head in the right direction. The is how to learn guitar.
Jamorama Review
You want to get better at guitar. Of course in order to get better at something you need to practice a lot and that especially goes for playing a musical instrument. To start it it will really help to have all the basics laid out for you in an organzied way like inside the Jamorama course.
Inside this Jamorama review I am going to try and help you realize your true potential as a guitar player. Most people who pick up a guitar will give up right away because they get bored with it or whatever. But you need to understand before you even play your first chord that it takes a lot of time and effort.
When you start will have no idea how to position your fingers to play chords. Then once you learn the positions it is going to feel very awkward which is perfectly naturally because your hands and fingers are not used to playing.
It will take a while, usually about a month before your fingers stop being sore from pressing down on the strings. When you try doing chord changes you will likely be very slow at it which is perfectly fine.
The trick is to just stay at it and keep learning with a course like Jamorama. What is great about Jamorama is that you can learn from the comfort of your home. You can learn about such concepts as playing by ear, scales, guitar techniques, and music theory. There is a wealth of information at your finger tips.
But if you want to get really into you can always learn from a great teacher one on one. I recommend you do this later on as you can save money just by taking the time to learn the basics at first.
Of course you do not have to get Jamorama or even sign up to learn from a teacher at your local music store. You can enjoy learning on your own. Many of the greatest guitar players who ever lived did this and they are world renowned musicians.
But an online guitar lessons program like Jamorama can help. Inside the package you will get guides on how to read tabs, how to strum, keep a beat, develop rhythm, guitar techniques like slides and bends, the CAGED theory, and more.
Jamorama also comes with a software that can help train your ears. It makes learning less of a chore and more of a game. Check out this Jamorama review for more info.
